Your car battery. How does it work exactly?
Your battery is best known for sending power to the engine’s starter motor, bringing your car engine to life each time you turn the key. Vroom Vroom!
But there is a little more to it than that.
You see, each time you start the engine or accidently leave your car’s lights on overnight, the battery drains of power until one day it goes flat and refuses to start the car. Sound familiar?
Much like the way you would charge your phone, your car battery needs to be charged. This is done with an alternator –this tough little guy charges your battery each time you drive your car.
And just in case you were wondering, your car battery is normally located alongside the engine, under the bonnet. Or it can be located in the cabin under the floor if you own a van or commercial vehicle.
